Can Cats Have Strawberries?

Can cats have strawberries? Who does not love strawberries? We all do! And why not? They are juicy, sweet and they taste great. As far as fruit goes, they are in a class of their own. We love them in milkshakes, ice cream, cakes and the list goes on. It would make sense that if we love them this much, then our feline friends would obviously enjoy them also as they usually love what we eat. So really it is not a question if they would like it but instead can they have it.

Can Cats Have Strawberries? – Yes, in Small Amounts

Yes, they can have strawberries but only in small amounts. Notice what PetMD says about this below:

“Yes, cats can eat strawberries in small amounts. Although they provide an excellent source of vitamin C, folate, potassium, and manganese, as well as antioxidants and fiber, the benefits are not noticeable in cats because they cannot safely consume large amounts. Be sure to remove the stems and leaves, then wash the strawberries before cutting them into small pieces.”

Conclusion

As mentioned above, cats can have small amounts of strawberries but be sure to remove the stems, leaves and wash them before cutting them into tiny pieces. So the next time you are indulging in a dish of strawberries and you see you cat sitting by you staring at you lovingly and licking it’s lips. Why not give a tiny piece to your cat buddy and have both of you enjoy the delight of strawberries? Your cat will love for it. At least until the bite of strawberry is gone and then it’s on the the next piece. Because this is the cats’ way!
