Cat Trees Toronto – Where to Find Cat Trees in the GTA

So, you’ve decided to get your beloved pet cat the ultimate in cat toys – a cat tree! (Also known as cat towers, cat condos or kitty condos.) If you are looking for cat trees in Toronto or GTA, then you have lots of options both locally and online to find the perfect cat tree for your pet.

Why buy a cat tree?

First, though, you may wonder if it’s really important for your cat to have a cat tree. The truth is – a cat tree is an incredible way to keep your indoor cat active and healthy. Even a small cat tree with a few attached toys will keep your buddy playing and active. (This can be especially helpful for them if they are a single kitty, and/or you work out of the home.) And, keeping indoor cats active is one of the toughest things to do! Boy, do cats get lazy once they grow up out of kittenhood. Those hyper little balls of fluff can turn into chubby kitties in literally just a few months. So, exercise is important!

A cat tree is more than just an oversized cat toy. Cat trees really help cats achieve active play – by climbing up like they would on a real tree. Plus, with all the levels, cats have lots of places to climb to, and a lot of places to play on! If yours is a multiple cat household, then a larger cat tree means that all the kitties will have a little spot to call their own. Many cat trees also include hammocks or tunnels – which become beautiful little places for cats to take a morning (or afternoon, or evening, or night) snooze!

Cat Trees Toronto

Toronto, Ontario has all sorts of awesome pet stores and other retailers to find a new cat tree! Or, if you’d like to find a used cat tree for a bargain price, try online local classified sites like https://www.kijiji.ca , and simply search for ‘cat tree.’ (Other search terms that might be helpful for you are: kitty condo, cat tower, or indoor cat house.) Sometimes a cat owner has purchased a brand new cat tree, and discovered that it is too big or small for the room they’d planned to put it in. In that case, you might snag a brand new cat tree for an amazing price! Woohoo, you bargain finder, you!

Otherwise, some local Toronto (GTA) shops that carry cat trees are:

  • PetSmart
  • Pet Valu
  • Canadian Tire
  • Walmart

The styles and varieties of cat trees will always vary, so you’ll likely have to check out a few different locations to find the exact right one for your cat and your space AND your budget too of course.

I don’t know about you guys, but more and more often I buy all of my cat’s supplies online! If you’d prefer to do your shopping from the comfort of your very own sofa, then here are some of the best options we’ve found. For all style preferences, because we want you to do you.

Amazon Basics Large Cat Condo with Cat Perch and multiple levels – Tall cat tower

I generally quite like Amazon Basics range of products, and their cat trees are no exception. They get good ratings, and are well made. This one is the largest one they currently produce, or at least the tallest. Good for cats that want to climb and need the exercise! (AKA: all of them haha.)

From the sizing of this model, I’d say it would be best for smaller to medium sized cats. You really do need to look at specific options if you have a BIG cat like we do.

Features I Love:

  • The price! Sorry to be a cheapo, but price is definitely a consideration for most of us when we’re purchasing a cat tree. This option is currently priced at $82.90. Not bad, right? (Please remember that prices change frequently, but this is the price as of the time of writing.)
  • Lots of levels for cats to climb up on.
  • A kitty condo in the middle of the unit, allowing a nice place for cats to hide.
  • All posts are integrated scratching posts! All of them are sisal covered, meaning they provide a great place for your cat to scratch out their feelings! (Yes, I say that to my cat all the time when he’s happily scratching away on his favourite scratching boards or scratching posts.)

Feandrea 81.1 inch tall cat tree! Basically, one of the BIGGEST cat trees we could find

Okay, the first choice was more reasonable. But, we like to provide all of you with options you’ll appreciate, so it’s time for this HUGE cat tree absolutely packed with features. If you’re looking to invest in a cat tree with all the features possible packed in, then this is probably for you. (Also great if you have a number of cats!) And actually, this price point is pretty amazing for what you get.

Features:

  • TALL – Yes, if you want your cat to reach the sky, or at least nearly the ceiling, then this is a good choice. 81.1 inches tall equals 6.75 feet. Wow!
  • Two elevated sleeping/chilling areas with padded bases AND those padded barriers. Nice – most cat trees will have just one of those, so this is great for multiple cat households.
  • A low-down sleeping area for older or less active cats. I like that there’s an option if your cat (or one of your cats) prefers not to climb up so high in order to have a place to chill out.
  • A cat hammock on the side, again perfect for lounging, cleaning their paws or having a much-needed sleep.
  • TWO cat boxes/cat condos incorporated right into the design. Again, most cat trees have one of these if any at all!
  • LOTS of places to scratch! Sisal covered posts and also an actual scratching board that is designed on an angle.

This cat tree is available in a number of colours too, not just the smoky grey featured in the picture above:

  • Camel brown shade is a bit more neutral in tone.
  • Cream white is the lightest shade available. Kind of chic, if you ask me.
  • Green!! I’m shocked, I’ve never seen this shade available before. I can totally see this in your space if you also share your home with a huge number of houseplants.
  • Jelly Pink – Again, not a common colour for cat trees! If your place is ultra girly, or you simply want a cat tree in a very unique colour, this one might be ideal.

Conclusion

And there we have it, fellow cat lovers and afficionados! All sorts of options (and colour choices) for your next cat tree or condo. If you don’t want to lug a cat tree home from a retailer, then the nice thing about ordering online is that it’ll be brought to you – right to your door. Hope we helped you find the perfect piece, and we equally hope that your cat absolutely adores it. 🙂 Until next time…
